Galvanised or painted steel eventually corrodes at cut edges, welds, and scratches. Stainless steel's chromium oxide layer is self-healing — it re-forms automatically when damaged. A stainless structure installed today needs no protective coating for its entire life.

Pickled and polished stainless steel maintains its appearance under rain, sun, and coastal air. For architects specifying facades, handrails, canopies, and entrance structures, this is the critical advantage over carbon steel.
High strength-to-weight ratio
SS304 offers tensile strength of 515 MPa minimum per ASTM A276 — comparable to structural carbon steel grades but with far superior corrosion resistance. Angles, channels, and flat bars provide the structural section shapes needed for most architectural applications.
