What is SS202?
SS202 is an austenitic stainless steel grade with lower nickel content replaced by higher manganese and nitrogen. It belongs to the 200 series and provides a cost-effective alternative to SS304 for applications where moderate corrosion resistance is acceptable. SS202 offers good formability, weldability and work hardening characteristics. The grade contains 13-15% chromium, 4-6% nickel and 7.5-10% manganese, giving it adequate strength and corrosion resistance for general engineering, architectural and food equipment applications.
