What is SS430?
SS430 is a ferritic stainless steel grade belonging to the 400 series. It contains 16-18% chromium with minimal nickel (max 0.75%), making it a cost-effective stainless steel with good oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance in mild environments. SS430 is magnetic, unlike austenitic grades, and offers good formability for decorative and architectural applications. It is widely used in automotive trim, architectural panels, appliance components and decorative hardware.
