Why SS316 and SS316L for Chemical Applications
Handles chlorides and acids
SS316 contains 2–3% molybdenum, which significantly increases resistance to chloride-induced pitting and crevice corrosion — the most common failure mode in chemical environments.
Performs at elevated temperatures
Chemical reactors and heat exchangers often operate at 300–600°C. SS316 and SS316L maintain structural integrity and corrosion resistance across this temperature range.
MTC with every consignment
Our melt shop uses Optical Emission SPECTRO analysis on every heat. Material Test Certificate with actual chemistry — Cr, Ni, Mo, C, Mn — is issued with every consignment. No estimates. No averages.
